Detailed Itinerary Manu National Park 3-Day Tour | Cultural Zone Special

We will stop in Paucartambo, a beautiful town known for its rich folklore and colonial architecture, and visit the interesting city museum. Along the way, we will have lunch in the cloud forest.

We will continue our descent through the cloud forest, an area rich in endemic species, such as the spectacled bear and the Andean cock-of-the-rock, Peru's national bird, which performs a unique courtship ritual.

We can also see orchids, bromeliads, ferns, etc. We will continue observing the spectacular nature throughout our journey until we reach the Pilcopata Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

  • Meals: Lunch, Dinner.

In the morning, we will enjoy a delicious breakfast at the lodge and board our vehicle. We will head to our hummingbird garden where you can spot different species of hummingbirds and various fruit-eating birds, monkeys, and some mammals of the area. The guide will explain the coca leaf plantations in Atalaya. Rubber boots will be provided, and we will take a 40-minute boat ride to reach the lodge, where you can relax or swim in the river.

After lunch, you will also have the option to do the zip line. In the afternoon, we will visit Lake Machuwasi, where we will explore on local rafts to observe birds, such as the hoatzin (a prehistoric bird), caimans, and capybaras, among other animals like monkeys and toucans.

Then we will take a night walk through the forest to look for insects and amphibians. After the night walk, we will have dinner and spend the night. Optional free activity - zip line: Our guests at the Amazon Manu Lodge have the opportunity to appreciate a unique and breathtaking view of the jungle as they fly through the rainforest canopy between platforms built high in the trees.

Here they eat the clay, which is rich in minerals and helps them digest food and eliminate toxins from their bodies. Afterward, we return to the lodge for breakfast and then take the 40-minute boat ride back to Atalaya, where we will board our vehicle for the return trip to Cusco.
